to dive or not? why divrnaut exists
My chase down the octo hole into diving started with a bucket list item.
"Get scuba certified"
Indeed, I got scuba certified. What they don't tell you: to keep an active certification, you need to dive at least every 6 months. I had inadvertently signed up for a lifestyle adjustment.
My first dives into our underwater world completely took my breath away. Even in a mostly mucky site called Alki Seacrest Park Cove 2 near West Seattle, WA, I had found myself living the dream. Maybe I could dive once a month to keep my skills sharp.
I found myself thinking about diving even during my surface intervals. I became an active member in multiple local dive clubs and have since upped my dive intake to once a week.
It became an essential part of my life. A routine, a coping mechanism, a lifestyle.
So I'm taking some time to document everything I work on and sharing it via divrnaut. Here, you will find a multifaceted lady who loves interacting with the other 71% of our world.
I dream of someday working on microcontrollers, sensor buses, and writing firmware for machines that will either explore and/or live in the ocean.
But for now, I'm pretty happy to be working on anything dive-adjacent. Professionally and personally.
Welcome aboard. Or below, I suppose.
